Abstract:
This report describes core sampling and results of analytical work in the South Slave region of the NWT. The project aims to refine the geothermal potential of the region with a special focus on the communities (Hay River, Enterprise, Kakisa, and Ft. Providence). A total of 84 split core samples from 33 wells including 8 formations were collected from this region. Analytical results include: porosity, permeability, density, thermal conductivity, thermal diffusivity, heat capacity, lithogeochemistry, and X-ray diffraction mineralogy.
